Suffocate under the veil
You've blindly cast before your eyes.
Ruin and decay
Are all that remain of a world once pure,
Bury me under the illusion
Of all that you've ever known.

Drown in the river never crossed.
Burn with the kingdom you've created.

From the ashes may you open your eyes,
And see the world that you've left behind.

The one left to rebuild
From every second you've thrown away,
The one left to carry your torch
When the path ahead lay in shadows,
The one who will suffer
When the weight of valiance is suffocating.

And while I may find the strength to carry on,
I cannot carry this burden much farther.

But somehow determination prevails,
Either driven by aspiration
Or a devotion to idle love,

That my persistence was not forlorn.

Between these dancing figures
Lays the temptation of escape,
Dividing the barrier between flesh and fiction.

An ominous stage hosting unending tragedy.

When all is buried,
Only then will we lament the faded.

Like shards to sand, and sand to the sea,

An endless cycle, until the last tear falls.
And as I stand, between beauty and decay,
I remember not what I have lost,
But what I will be remembered for.

Ruin consuming
Decrepit remains,
A broken landscape stained with pestilence.

Solace bound within reverie,
Above graves of the departed.
